In its 25th year, ViaTech is dedicated to appointing resources to help meet its goal of ensuring customer satisfaction. We are excited to introduce Andrew Kemp, who has just joined our team as Front-End Developer.
In addition to developing applications, Andrew is responsible for maintaining the design and testing for usability. Here are Andrew’s thoughts on joining ViaTech.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm 31 years old, and I have been in software development for about 5 years. Before this, I was working for a healthcare company in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Why did you choose ViaTech?
I think ViaTech is forward thinking and incredibly dynamic. Their product and projects are smart and innovative, and I wanted to be a part of that.
What is your role on the team?
As Front-End Designer, I work on the User Interface part of our applications.
What tasks do you carry out in your role, and what are some of the tools you use?
I work closely with designers and project managers to help design user interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use.
What has it been like starting a new job during the COVID-19 crisis?
There are always fresh challenges to face, pandemic or not. The COVID-19 crisis has helped me learn to reach out sooner and establish solid communications with coworkers to create a great working pipeline so that we can deliver solutions on time, bug free.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids and listening to music. I really enjoy discovering new artists and learning about the music industry.
